Heystacks of the Costa Nova

The lighthouse of Aveiro in Praia da Barra is another of the icons of the region that we must visit. It is protected by the Portuguese navy being in full activity. So isn´t open to visitors every day, but on Wednesday you can climb all the steps of the lighthouse. Yes climb the stairs, there are many and there is no option of use the elevator. The climb is tiring, but only the view we have from the top of the lighthouse is worth the visit to Aveiro.
The Art Nouveau Museum located right in the center of the city, next to the central canal is the ideal place to know the history of this artistic movement, very influential in Aveiro and allows you a cooler walk in the hottest hours. You can also indulge yourself with wonderful teas and cakes at the tea house on the ground floor of this museum. After the rest you can begin your ride of moliceiro, since it is very close to the place of loading pier for the moliceiros of the Onda Colossal.
At the top of Avenida Lourenço Peixinho we can find the Railway Station of Aveiro. The front of the building is the old train station and behind this we can find the new and modern station. Being that the new station is very beautiful and functional is in the old one that our eyes become glazed. The handpainted tile panels that line the facades of the building are charming. It is impossible to visit Aveiro and not come to the old train station to take some photos of these tile panels.
Be sure to visit our fish market, “it’s a delicious market”.
In addition to being able to buy the fish that this market has to offer inside, you can still enjoy the restaurants, bars and coffee shops that the same has around it.
The gaudy and cheerful colors invade Aveiro making the region even more beautiful and appealing for a visit.
